Default is it worth the upgrade?

i have 00 trans am H/C setup with m6 3.42
is it worth is to go to 3.73?
some were telling me that i wouldn't see too much difference in the gear differences.
i don't want to upgrade to 4.10 since this is my daily driver.
what do you guys think?

go to the 4.10s. youll be wasting your time and money going to the 3.73s you wont see very much

thats my best advice

youll love them.

quicker and 6th gear is still way up there..... stock at 2k your at 90mph, w/ the 4.10s youll be at 80mph youll lose very little in mpg if your really worried about it

i sometimes do 300 mile drive home to my parents' house.
with h/c and 4.10, where would my rpm be going 80?

w/ the 4.10s itll be at 2k at 80mph

thats what i was at, then i went to a gto trans to be more drag friendly and it dropped me to 70mph i still get 25 mpg on the hwy

so i know that the 4.10s will make 6th gear better, but wat about 1st gear? Does it completly make it useless or wat? I was talking to the guy that is going to do it and he was concerned that 4.10s will make the 1st gear uselesss. And its a DD just FYI.

it depends on how your right foot is in 1st gear, its not bad at all, youll spin the tires easier

Default Don't waste money on a 10 bolt upgrade

Buy a Moser 12 Bolt with the gears you want and you will never look back. Stay with the 10 bolt and you'll be picking up bits and pieces of your ring gear out of the rear end housing.

so than wat about when ppl drag their 6spds w/4.10s? Doesnt it defeat the purpose of 1st gear tahn since u say it depends on how ur right foot is in 1st gear?

I see alot of ppl on here that say m6+4.10s=....than i see ppl say that they are alittle too low. They say 373s woudl be perfect. So i duno wat to do. But DR's are in the plans for this year....

first few times out w/ the 12 bolt and 4.10s i smacked the limiter in 1st, it comes quick when your at the track. but you get used to it and learn when to shift since its a lil sooner.

w/ me having the mn12 (gto trans) and the 4.10s. its really quick, im shifting into 2nd about 80-100ft out

trust me and others, youll love 4.10s

Yah go 4.10's but not in a 10 bolt. When I first did my 4.10's I daily drove 90 miles round trip to work and 30 of it was highway and my gas mileage did not change at all. I was getting 22 mpg with the 3.42 and same with the 4.10's.

I lost 2 mpg going from 3.42's in a 10 bolt to full option Moser 12 bolt with 4.11's. It is worth it to me.

I am installing 4.10 gears into my 10-bolt later this week. My car is a daily driver, does not see the track, and I don't launch it at all. I am saving for a MWC rear end now though so I can safely add some track time and hard launches. Thats the next big purchase this summer.. I can let you know my experieince with the new gears when I get them in.
