Default Went from 323's to 390's in stock 10 bolt

Just got my motive 390's installed a couple of weeks ago and when I was trying to decide if I wanted 373's or 390's I couldn't find a whole lot of feedback on them. So I figured I would post up my results for anyone who is thinking about 390's in a A4. I went to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis last weekend to see what the gain was but they weren't running 1/4 mile because of the wind so all I have is a new PB 1/8 mile. LOL Anyways the gears alone gained me .35 tenths in the 1/8th mile! I was pretty happy with the results and all in all I think that the 500 bucks was well spent. Not sure if I would've picked up anymore in the top end but even just .35 is a good gain. Looking forward to getting some new 1/4 mile times with them soon. My HWY milage did decrease a good bit (3-5 mpg) but I mainly drive in the city other than the 1 and 1/2 hour drive to the track. LOL With my mixed daily driving I have actually been going about 10 more miles to a tank of gas. At about 80 on the interstate it runs at about 3000 rpms. It deff took care of all of the flat spots as well. From a roll and a dig race its a completly diff car. Sorry for the long post but like I said I couldn't find any good feedback on them in a A4.

What convertor are you running, stock or ? ?
Sounds like you like the 3.90s. Too many are "afraid" to do more than a 3.73 in an A4 and they shouldn't be. A.35 gain in the 1/8 should put you at .5-.6 in the 1/4.

Yep I'm still on the stock converter. (I plan on fixing that sometime soon) The gears are Motives and the shop charged 250 for the install. It does seem to tach up a lot quicker now, and it fixed the flat spots like a 40 punch. The street manners are great so far and it does tach up much quicker than before. The street tires hold on for dear life with anything under a 40 roll tho but its not uncontrollable and I would still have to say that even spinning it is still way faster off the line than it was on street tires. They did pick up a hint of whine after I made a trip to the track on the m/t streets but its not horrible. It seems to mainly be when you let out of it and coast and it is not bad at all not much more than stock. Here is a vid of my second best run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8G_nSPm9HI
