Default Starting install of Midwest Fab9

After a week of looking at it Mesmerized in garage, and numerous friends joining me to admire craftsmanship. The prep and install begins.
Here it is as arrived:

Nice smooth welds

One of few Poly ends. I will let you all know how they work out

Gear pattern

Strange / upgraded dayton pinion support

I will etching it this weekend and will start painting them Viper blue to match the rest of the car. Then proceed to assemble and install, step by step.
Thank you to Eric for quality work, it's unlike anything I have ever seen. Pictures can't do it justice.
~Derek

In the sixth picture it looks like the gear contact pattern is centered or positioned too far towards the ID side of the ring gear. Or is it just my imagination?

My MWC rear is supposed to be here next week.

Do you have a great desire to fix it/take it to a good local yocal???

I ordered mine w/ the heavy duty Moser aluminum 3rd member with 3.89 gears, if mine doesn't look right I'm either gonna get Eric, Moser or a local yocal to fix it.

For all this money it should be right to start with...

I hope I get lucky...

That's gonna look great once you get it painted and installed ! I'm definately a fan of your car, the color scheme and flames are sweetness.

Cheers,

that is a Motive Performance gear. they are really inconsistent in their setups from one gear to another, even with the same case and part number of gear. we do as best as possible to find the pattern that looks correct. we just don't throw a shim in it that looks "close enough" and button it up. we find the best one and then go both ways to be sure it is correct. all of the performance gears are set "shallow" compared to an oem or stock replacement type gear. it is recommended in the setup instructions with the gearsets when you buy them.

True because when it's installed the pressure will cause it to push toward the outer part of the ring. So it should center its self up when driving. I have no complaints about it, everything looks great.
