Bulletproof 10 bolt?

I'd rather work with my stock 10 bolt, what would be the best stuff to use? Moser axles? Diff cover?

No such thing as a bulletproof 10 bolt, not even close. Save the $ and get an aftermarket rear, you will save tons of headaches and $ wasted on new parts that will just break again.

Grab a jar and throw $$$ into it every so often for when yours does go pop. No point trying to beef up the poop 10 bolt.

i have never one said this, but search for this one. You will find there is no way to bullet proof a 10 bolt, and tossing money at it is pointless...

If it sounds like a train and you dont have cash to get a legit rearend, just get another 10 bolt, they're cheap

you can get one for dirt cheap like 100 bux or less honestly. just keep an eye open, and honestly, i wouldn't give a **** what the 10 bolt sounded like, if its working, let it be until it works no more and throw another 10 bolt in it and take the broken one to the junk yard. look for a used 12bolt or 9in, i got mine for 1100 with a fucked up torque arm adapter bracket, nothing a little bit of work didn't fix.

It's not the money. I'd rather have a factory piece in the car. I'm not trying to run 8's, just make my weekend car a little more fun to drive. I don't think there is a bolt in 8.8, 9 inch, 12 bolt, S60, or other that is as quiet as a 10 bolt. If anyone has a lead on a good 3.42 4 channel 10 bolt, I'm very interested.

My 9in is pretty damn quiet considering what its been through...the only time my 10 bolt was quiet was when it was broke...and didnt move

I've got a 3.42, 4 channel rear.. currently has a 3.73 in it and whines like a banshee (just as with the 3.42's) and is sitting out back behind the garage because after one rebuild (and the continuing whine), I decided to go with a Fab 9"..

I think everyone on here isnt looking at his ride lol. 9in and s60 isnt gonna work in his irs car . I would look into just getting it rebuilt or buying a stage 2 or 3 diff.

If you are pretty much stock, get a master install kit and either Richmond or motive gears. You dont need moser axles. The main caps will break before an axle. Get the TA or MAC cover. It supports the weakes part of the 10 bolt. The main caps that retain the bearings for the differential and axles. If you are looking for more than 450 and have an auto or less than 350 and a 6 speed, rebuild the 10 bolt you should be fine.
