What size socket do I need to remove pinion nut on stock 10 bolt?

^^^thats right. auto parts store has them for about 5 bucks.

Make sure you count the threads before you take the nut off or mark it with a chisel and hammer.

Its a metric nut , 31 mm should be the size.

1.25 inches equal 31.75mm
32mm equal 1.259 inches


What counts is that you got the nut loose.

It's the metric one..just about everything on these cars is metric. 31mm.

1-1/4" Socket, same pinion nut they have used since the early 70's.
