Not worth the time or effort. 10 bolts are disposable rear ends. It's not a matter of if, but when they will break. I've been a cheapass not wanting to spend the jack on a 9in so I keep a spare 10 bolt in the garage. I average one broken 10 bolt per year. When I buy 10 bolts, the most I spend is $200 on a low mileage one. I have two good 10 bolts and won't buy another one. The car is getting a 9in before spring so 2010 is worry free.

Default bullit proof 10 bolt

i recently just pulled my 10 bolt to weld the tubes, put a crush sleeve elimanator, 3.73 gears and built my own axle tube suport. I did all of this for under 350 dollars but you need a welder so you can do it your self. Dont know if it is bullit proof but i am puttin it through the paces. runnin a 1.62 60ft with a yank ss3600 stall and mt drag radials. pullin left front wheel on launches. its worth the money if you can do the work your self.

x2 Im a Auto & cut low 1.5 60fts on my 10 bolt. I am wanting to step up to a 4.10 gear though & was cutting the 1.5 60fts with 3.42s

Im runnning the Vinticator Cam & it calls for a 4.10 gear & big converter. Already running a PT4000 & have run a best of 7.1@95mph..

Trying to break in the 6s I hope with 4.10s & skinnys up front, But worried about still hooking up with the 4.10s & breaking my 10 bolt.

I run a Mickey Thompson 315/35/17 Drag Radial on TT2s all around.

I think he bailed on the 10 bolt and went to a 12 bolt with no response back ever. OP is MIA.

There are so many factors and variables that may make a 10 bolt last or not. Even if this did work, there would be no way to prove it, no way to really make an apples to oranges comparison as to whether it will work and fix the problem inherent with the rear just being small. A good idea, but like many have said you still have the puny little teeth on the3 10 bolt gears. They only get smaller with numerically higher gears.

If you were to actually see an S60 or 9" next to the stock 10 bolt, maybe you have or haven't, but it is easy to see why the rearends don't withstand abuse. It just does not have the physical mass to take alot of punishment.
