Default Is my 10 bolt done for?

I'm sure these threads are constant but I figured i would ask.

Leaving a restaurant today, I back my car out of the parking spot and hear/feel this hard pop. I drive around the lot, and every time at lower speeds i turn left, I feel the pop from the passenger side rear. Drive some more, notice that with the clutch in, it doesn't seem to do it.

Does this sound like a problem with the rear/posi unit? Recently I noticed what sounds like some groan from the rear passenger side that I assumed was a bad wheel bearing, but I couldnt see that causing the noise only on turns. TIA

For the record, its an m6 with basic suspension mods, lid, catback, and ls7 clutch

With that being said I guess its safe to assume it is the posi unit, correct? I found a good condition used posi unit with 373's out of an s10. Is it possible that I just damaged the unit and spider gears that I could put a new unit in and be ok? I've never installed one, only removed them so is there anything special I need to get or do when installing?

It sounds like at the very least its the posi.
Sounds very similar to the problem i had earlier this week.

You'll have to take it apart to see if its just the posi, me personally, i had more damage than just the posi.
So I'm going to end up getting a moser 9"

Hope it helps, and good luck

You were running that much power through a 10-bolt? You must be a lucky man.

When I had that issue, I had broken all four spider gears in the carrier, and chewed up a couple teeth on the ring and pinion gears. Teeth were still attached, just chewed up.

Have you ever changed the lube? I have had clutch type posi get sticky and pop around corners and fixed it by changing the lube and adding the posi additive.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I'm going to get the posi unit with the 373's and a master install kit. That should leave the only other damage possible to be in the axles i think which I assume I don't have the talent to break...

I changed the lube about 3 months ago and added limited slip additive, there were a decent amount of shavings in there but nothing broken at the time... carnage pictures to follow once I pull the rear apart and if they are even bad enough to be worth posting
