So I autoX, roadrace, and drag race my car and after a 140k miles of torture on the stock 10-bolt, I think it's finally time to upgrade. I'm planning on going 12-boly because I can keep my stock driveshaft, ease of install, weight, and cost. But I can't decide what kind of limited slip to go with. I definitely do not want to give up anything in the cornering ability of the car,but I do want it to be tough enough to handle DRs up to about a 1.8 60' time.
So which posi unit to go with???

Just a FYI that you can use your stock driveshaft with a 9" and S60 too. But don't want to upgrade your 140k stock shaft?
I was told heavier spring loads (like 800 lb) actually burn up clutches worse.
I don't have a 12-bolt but real happy with my 9" clutch type posi in all types of driving. It also has stock (near 100 lb) preload springs if I recall correctly. The guy that builds them told me why heavy springs are a no-no.

You mean the stock Aluminum one with cardboard inside? The same one you can find a couple of pages worth of threads with pics of tore in half or twisted like a Pretzel.
Sell yours to an LT1 guy (like I did) $100. Put a couple hundred with it and get one that will take the abuse. Everything has a service life and bet yours is getting there.
I knew when I bought this car the first few things you need to be safe and push it some are SFC's, driveshaft and rear. Pretty much in that order.
I ordered the SFC's second week I had the car. Driveshaft was like a couple of months into it and rear I just did. It sat for a while though!
This was a low 30k mile car that wasn't beat too.
