Default differential cover girdle fitment question?

Im looking to install a diff girdle on my 98 z28. my buddy is giving me his TA girdle that came off his 10bolt in his 69 camaro. Since 7.5 rear ends didnt exist back then im assuming that its an 8.5 diff. I was looking at girdle options and it shows that the 10bolt(8.5) and the 10bolt(7.5) are 2 different covers.
I was wondering if it would be possible to use the 8.5 cover on my 7.5 rearend since it was free?
If thats just a terrible idea I want one anyways and was wondering what brands are out there.. TA seems to have the market. Is there any other brands available. One better than the other??
Thanks for the help

it won't fit. I have a mac girdle, it was about $110 new on ebay with a new gasket and hardware. I think summit has one that looks just like it but cheaper. they probably come from the same place and just have different brands stamped on them.
