S60 questions
I'm thinking that the most I'll ever have is 500-600 rwhp so...
1. Are they loud? Gear whine?
2. I looked at the weights in the sticky they aren't that telling...is the 60 really a anchor out back?
3. The car needs to be daily driver. Will I really notice a difference from the 3.23's to a 3.73 as far as acceleration? (not concerned with gas mileage)
4. Everything can break...is there a solid reason to go with something else?
I have had my WS6 since 02. She deserves to be made as fast as she looks. Slowly, she will be transformed into my project. With 140,000 miles and now on my fourth 10 bolt I'm ready to move on with my wifes blessing of course. I figure that I might try to move up to konis at the same time, does anyone have any insight into konis and s60's?

I run an S60 with 3.73 and spool on the street and the gear makes min. to no noise. This is a very strong setup and worth the little extra weight IMO.
let me know if you need any pricing

I went with 3.54 which think are pretty good all around gear and lowest I could go with the dana.
If you have a decent stall then think you will also be happy with 3.54 for street some track and if you want to do a lot more track stuff then 3.73 would be about as high was would go. Course m6 cars usually 3.73 to 4.10 are nice.
You should still notice decent improvement around town from the 3.23 to 3.54.
Get a nice 3500 or so stall and you should have a great streetable combo.

I've intentionally not run the numbers on Mileage... but rest assured there are Motor Yachts getting better mileage; but she is incredibly quick off the light...
Took her to the track and because I couldn't fit the salad shooters on the 5/8the lugs... I was running my street tires, so it's a no brainer that we couldn't launch... but NA, with the slicks still in the back seat... a floor jack, the impact gun, the bottles, tools... and all of the crap I usually off load prior to runnin'... we still pulled 8.4s in the 1/8th... more or less pulling a trailer. Our best 60 was a 2.1... So all things considered... its a kick in the pants.
The Best 60 on the 10 bolt was a 1.5 so knock the 9/10ths and pull about 150 lbs of cargo and we're low-mid 7s NA... with a full interior LT1-Z.
as far as the gear whine goes in had moderate whine on accel/decel at 30-40 MPH but at highway speeds it was dead silent
