What gears to go with on my Moser 9''?
I've had this rear end for about a year and have been running 3.89's in it. At the time of the purchase of the new rear end, I wasn't too educated on gear selection so the shop I had install the rear end chose some for me: 3.89's. To be completely honest I HATE these gears. I miss the way my car was geared when I used to have stock gears in my 10 bolt. My question is what would be the best gears to go with for my setup. I do majority roll races and don't see the track too often i just miss the good ol 35-40 rolls leaving outta 1st gear. What would be a good gear to go with? 3.70? 3.50? 3.25? 3.00? I got on Spohn's website and was looking at the gear selection when putting together a Moser 9'' and was curious which one would be a good choice for me. How hard is it to swap out gears in a Moser 9''? Or what's the standard price a shop would charge to change my gears?

4.30 or 4.56...
lower gears accelerate slower and get better mileage...
Gear swap is not difficult if you remove the rear end, but setting it up with the proper backlash/tensioning should be left to the pros. Figure regular shop rates for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

so 4.30's or 4.56's would be good for the street? or 1/4 mile? or both? probably KILL my gas mileage as well huh?
So basically the higher up you go on your gears the faster you accelerate? I'm a newb so bare with me...

Your car came with 3.42's as a 6 speed. If you prefer those over 3.89's the last thing you want is a taller gear.
4.30's and 4.56's are arguably track only gears. On the street daily driving you would spend more time on the clutch petal shifting than on the gas. (exaggeration)
Yes the higher the gear ratio the faster you accelerate.
However, with this relative to your wishes to start in first at 35-40 mph, using the link above you would be at 6000 rpms already if you had 4.56's.
compared with 4200 rpms with 3.42's.
I would help select but 500+ horsepower, transmission gearing per weight and highway type roll racing are things I don't calculate for my daily j-o-b. That is something I would think moser or a sponsor would help you out with.
And with that said, my best guess would be 3.50's sound like the best ticket for you based on your sig and personal preference thus far...

well you have to look at what rpm you would like to run. Say you want to run 3,000 rpms at 60mph in fourth gear (direct drive) with a 25.4 inch tall tire. Heres the math rpmxtire size then divide that number by mphx336.

I have a different opinion on the 4.30s. I had 4.11s in my 00 Z28 with almost 500rwhp and switched to 4.30s. I absolutely loved them. I got 24.3mpg on a trip from Louisville, KY to Knoxville, TN and back. I often went from 1st to 3rd or 2nd to 4th when just driving around. I ran 120mph in the 1/4 and never regretted the change to the 4.30s at all. I have 4.11s in the LSx wagon and will probably change to 4.30s soon.
