Turbo 408 M6 [What gears are you running]
I will be changing out gears from my 4.11's in my moser 12 bolt to a higher gear (lower in number). Car will be mainly my weekend warrior with a few passes at the track yearly (nothing special)
What gear setup would be best for say a 80% Street 20% Strip setup?

Not at a power level currently, the engine and turbo will be going in next month. I'm trying to do everything at once rather than have to go back and fix different things everytime.
With that being said, I'm currently in the process of choosing the turbo I want to go with. So if you have any suggestions there I'm always open to more input.
But I'm shooting for 750rwhp. Engine is a fully forged 408, 9.3:1 CR

Gearing for 1/4 mile so you don't shift into fifth is usually what most people want. With 750rwhp would think you need around a 3.42 depending on tires ,there are calculators out there that you can plug in tire size and rear gear.If the car is not a track car going into fifth in quarter would not be that big a deal. Some guys say the lower numerical help spool up the turbos. I am not so sure on that. I just like to pick a gear that feels good off boost and in town as you will find with a 408 and 750rwhp you won't be going into boost in town much at least you don't in my city unless you like jail.
3.73 seems popular choice for supercharged especially centrifugal cars. 4.10 is popular for NA builds. 3.42 is great middle choice for turbo six speed cars generally .I would have went with 3.42 but 3.54 is lowest the dana 60 comes with.
That said you may find even lower numerically helps traction but I prefer to use other methods to get traction, boost ramping,tires..Six speed boost ramped by gear should kick on the street.

I have a friend has he's running 3.00 in a 9" and he absolutely loves it.
He's running and STS system with a T-76 (i think). I'm not sure I want that high though

btw, why are the majority going auto i would think that an m6 an a turbo would be a very fun street car an not track oriented. although, mid 10's still wouldn't be a prob.

is a "ramp by gear" in the tune? or are you adjusting it on ams logs or something? i'm still learning.

Reason for going auto with turbo are several..Manual cars don' build boost off the line. To do this you get two step and antilag. These are available in hardware like ling two step or msd two step. Msd has two step but not antilag feature. Also you will lose more boost every shift with manual unless you powershift.
Autos can build boost off line ,still helps to have two step and good stall. They don't lose boost like manuals on shifts. And they are more consistent for 1/4 mile type racing. Also nice to drive in heavy traffic and in hilly places.
And no clutches to burn out, masters or slaves to go fubar.
And easier to put the really big power thru auto than stick, easier to get better 60fts.
Some standalones like big stuff 3 have two step and might have antilag. Antilag isn't needed really in an auto.
