Default What is this piece? Broken?
I bought a Moser 12 bolt with Eaton Posi and 3.90 gears from a member on here and after sanding it down I saw this piece (in pic.) Im not sure what it is or what it does and after looking online for it for days I cant find pictures of it or what it should look like. Could it be a breather fitting or something thats broken? I plan on installing it within the next week.

Ok. Is it broken then? I don't have access to another Moser 12 to compare to. Anyone have any picture of what it's supposed to look like?

Yes it's broken. It should have a barbed end that sticks up a half inch or so with a breather hose attached. It's just a brass fitting you can pick up at a hardware store. Take that one with you.

this, its the breather vent, put a one way check valve on it or a rubber hose with the other end high enough to not get water in it. every single axle has one, including your 10 bolt

ps that pic was taken 5 min ago, just for you, on my 33 spline Moser 12 bolt, easton posi, 4.10 gears so yes its the exact same thing youve got.
