A 2001 would have had a Torsen 'posi' from off the factory assembly line. 1998 and earlier had Auburn carriers. Auburn's had cone clutches that wear over time, but 115,000 is not enough to make an Auburn unusable.
Back to your Torsen posi. Torsens don't contain clutches, Just gearsets that typically don't wear. But they do break, sometimes catastrophically ( very rare). The endcap and its' bolts break causing that catastrophic break.
You should be fine OR is there some reason you suspect something is wrong ?

Yes, 7.5", also referred to as 7.625".
Any axles you'd get would probably be a 'downgrade' as they're all NOT made in the USA anymore.

from everything I've read it seems everyone steers clear of rebuilding 10 bolts. Are you still running stock rear (other than gears) on your car? Mine is howling and needs some work, I was looking at replacing it with a fab 9 but they aren't cheap. Although I never track my car I would prefer spending the money on the repair or replacement once.

Yes, stock rears, A4s' don't break rear ends like M6s' do. A4s' don't give 'shock' loads to the rear end like M6s'.
The 3.23 rear end has Auburn posi, the 4.56 rear end has an Eaton posi.
An A4 with the stock rear, when something does go wrong, will blow the A4s' forward sprag before something in the rear breaks.

I’m not sure what mine has. I’m assuming whatever came stock in 00. I’ve only had the axle bearings and seals replaced once and also added a TA cover a couple years ago. It held up for 20 years. Just not sure if rebuilding or replacing is better for longevity.

If you're not going to race it, just put a T/A cover on it to pre-load the bearing caps and be done with it. The next weak part is the axles, they will break if you launch it hard. Aside from this, it's not really worth putting anymore cash into the Torsen's, save up and replace it with something stronger if it's a concern.

Mine already has TA cover but I believe my bearing is shot and howling. I really didn’t want to spend 4K on a replacement....but don’t want to waste 1100 on a rebuild either if it’s not stout
