Default Found the problem....

So i was having all kinds of problems driving my car around, because the car was bucking when turning with the locker, and toooons of gear whine. the other day i heard a terrible popping in the rear when i turned into my garage. i already had a new ring and pinion and posi on the way here from midwest chassis, because i didnt like the whine or locker. so i go to pull outa the garage today and urch. car just stops. like there is no contact from ring to pinion. tow it down to work at the shop and open her up. this is what i found .
anyway, gears are being setup and may be done correctly tomorow. glad i decided to order replacements and to have it done right.

Holeee crap, every single bolt backed out of the ring gear? I'd raise hell to the person that set that up.....(long as it wasn't yourself )

Yea that's pretty bad..........call me biased but I'm not so sure I like the design of that locker. I don't care how strong they are, IMO your ring gear needs a solid surface to bolt to such as a spool or any other posi carrier. The fact that there are two flat surfaces in between the ring gear and the bolt is not good. That design is junk and if I were you, I would get rid of it and never use it again. Even if that was torqued properly with loctite, that design would eat your bolts up. Who makes that unit? Is it a regular Detroit Locker?

NO, i did not set up up myself. it was used for like 6 or 700 miles before i had it, supposedly by a person who knows what hes doing. idk. as far as im aware that peice is a NASCAR style locker. i didnt like the way that thing worked anyway, and im kinda glad to be replacing it all.
