Default which diff is the strongest?

this will be on a daily driven m6 car with an eventual 750+ rwhp on nitrous. thats why im leaving out the locker

eaton
trutrac
wavetrac

and just out of curiosity, when does an eaton become a cause for concern? i have an eaton in my 12 bolt but im gonna have a 9 inch made later. so i need to know what diff will work best

JL WS.6 Was deep into the 9's on a 12 Bolt Moser and a HD Eaton unit. It was a T braked TH400 with a 4500-5000 stall. Sold it and another driver loves it.

IMO on Paper the Wave Trac Seems stronger but there are no real world street/strip cars with a above average race weight that has really tested out the unit. The only real info was the GTO which is a track car if I recall.

Spool is the strongest and you can definitly DD it. I basically do it now with my Busted Tru Trac, it has the tires currently locked.

In the end, I suspect you will pick the wave trac and I would love to see some real data and see if it survive some wheel hop situations.

I forget but if your car has a T-56, leave the Locker out of the running, Bad Juju.

Do a search on this in the trans section or drag race, or even here, plenty of info. If get a moment I'll dig up some examples, some sponsors I am sure can chime in too.

IMO to be completely honest, a HD eaton or a Spool is the only 2 I would consider and if it was hardcore drag strip, spool all the way.

Edit:

I Searched in this section "Locker M6"

With your manual transmission I would go with a spool before I went with a locker. Bob

first thing is Eaton doesn't make a "posi" for 9" ford.

M6 car and Detroit Locker don't mix well... Ill handling and unpredictable lockup.

750+, N2O, M6= spool or Wavetrac. maybe put the spool in it first and then if you don't like it then purchase a wavetrac and switch it out. the spool is the least cost, strongest, and lightest diff unit you will ever buy, the Wavetrac is just the opposite, but has a lifetime warranty and is currently the strongest thing on the market for a 9 inch diff unit. We have sold lots of them and have had no issues so far.

There is no Eaton E-locker either, but the ARB will be the best option for you...

Open when not racing and you get the best mpg, and spool at the track.

If you had the D-60 then you had the option of the ARB or E-locker

spool if you wnat to race the car.

i had a truetrac, with 415whp had problems with it. went to a spool, car is faster and don't have to worry about it. its fine for a dd. just can;t go fast in the downpour with standing water, but im on 28 mt dr's summer tires would be getter for all weather dd.

for daily driver, would wavetrac or true trac be the best with his power?? Is the wavetrac a more cornering performance handling style of diff, but with the strength (or close to) of the drag strip style diffs like a spool or locker???

The Wavetrac can handle a lot more power than the Truetrac can. Your analogy is correct on the Wavetrac. Bob

A selectable would be best....

When DD you have no added drag or wear like a LS or locker, and improve mpg.
When you need to have traction for racing or snow or whatever you flip a switch or push a button.

I dont know what all the fuss about the locker is. I love mine. You can barely hear it when turning and you get a clunk every once in a while but nothing to complain about. Once you figure out how to drive it you barely know its there.
I believe some people get the wrong locker. Make sure you get the one refered to as the "soft locker". It supposed to make much less noise. My locker doesnt click nearly as loud as the one in the video above. My only bitch with it is that the first couple of shifts are notchy feeling. I drove it in the rain a few times and i was impressed with how well it handled the rain. I would go spool/locker but if you have the $$ go wavetrac. I got my locker from Eric at MWC.
