Default 9" build

OK, it's finally the right time to buy a new 9" rear.
I don't want to overkill or underkill this rear. I do know I'm building a 383 that hopeful makes somewhere around 550hp 500lb torque, and if the car don't go in the low to mid 10's 1/4, then I'll spray it there, and for some reason I'm determined to run a 4.30 gear.
the rest of the parts I don't know.
so I was hoping some of you guys would help me out, with some suggestions. (splines?, posi?, locker?, spool?,brakes?,back brace?,centersection alum/iron,housing fab9/iron?, manufacture for direct bolt in)
car is driven on the street but very rarely, mostly track
I have 15" rims 5 1/2 backspce
motor will rev to 7000rpm
true slicks
th400 with trans brake
wheels off the ground
thanks guys for your help!!!

Spool. 35 spline. If you buy a stamped 9" rear end, you will not need a back brace. If you go with a fab rear end, I would suggest you go ahead and get the back brace.

Moser 9 inch with a spool

http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-M9-...y-Complete.htm
Moser M9 (fabricated rear, much lighter and includes torque arm and transmission crossmember)

I would go with the M9, the second link up above if you don't already have a good torque arm. Bob

I do have a sophn torque arm with trans cross member, which I think is pretty good, but it is for a 700r4 and I'm switching to a 350 or 400 with a trans brake so I'd have to buy or fab a new cross member.
I've read you have to massage the floor with a reg 9", do you have to do it with the Fab9?
Are the reg 9" torque arm mounts as tough as the fab9? should there be any concern here?
which is lighter?
the sophn torque arm may be a selling point for the 10bolt.
thanks guys for your reply's

The Moser M9 (fabricated rear) does not require messaging the floor. The torque arm was designed to follow the contour of the floor. The regular Moser torque arm bracket is very beefy and tough, either one is a great design although the standard Moser 9 inch torque arm bracket is much heavier. Thanks! Bob

Yup i would do a MWC rear. At least give them a call. It is definetly the most bolt in rear for a F-body that come with alot of standard options which make it very nice. I have installed a stamped 9 inch housing and a couple of MWC. and the little small things make a differnce with the MWC, sway bar brackets and factory style brake line clips, and others stuff. You can add thoses to the other 9" options above but you pay for it. And also sure MWC can make you a crossmember for what type of trans you will be running. One stop shop.

Give me a call and I will be more than happy to go with a set up just for your needs. There are so many choices and combo's we can put together that typing it out here or just sending you to a link to show you will just leave you with more questions in the end..

We can also discuss if you want to go with a long arm or short arm based off your combo and how you want the car to react on the street and strip. An like Zmg00camaross mentioned we give you all the necessary items at no extra cost. Bolting in our housing is really like putting back in your factory 10-bolt.

We also give our customers a break on all products we sell and will be there to help you with your needs from here on out. Not only customer service is important to us but customer satisfaction is also.
