Default Top end loss w/new gears

My stock 10 bolt **** the bed, mostly due to my driving style, not cool I know. I have a Moser built to order 9inch I am about to order but I wanted to know who would be able to tell me how much top end I would loose going from 3.73's to 4.11's or even 4.56's I understand this is a huge jump and trust me I am not using the car as a DD. Can anyone shed some light to my question? Thanks guys.

would really help to know if you're an auto or manual...

3.73s = max I could imagine using for an auto that sees street use

4.10 = about perfect gear for a t56 car

Just put in the correct data for your application. This is a good place for what if questions about changing tire height or gear ratios.

do you mean "top end" as top speed or do you think it's going to loose "top end" power and not pull as hard at high speeds? it's going to pull harder to your top speed it's just that your top speed will drop. but as said, just use the gear calculator and you can punch in whatever gear/tire you want.

I used the gear calculator And plugged in my old formula. I remember it would run 1500rpm at 66ishmph. I topped it out in 5th once and my speedo read 150 at roughly 5600rpms(it's been a long time)

I cant find a ratio that covers that... As far as I knew it was a 3.42 gear, and according to the 3.42 chart I shouldve been running way faster at those rpm's. Anyone else find trouble getting real world numbers? I know I was coming out of 4th at a over 110mph but at about 6100 or so rpm.

If you mean mechanically-limited top speed, it'll still be way faster than you want to go. 4.10s in my M6 and I can still ping the limiter at 159mph.

My formula's speedo must have been off pretty bad then b/c there is no way that I was only running 150 at the rpm's I was turning... It was 5500 or more(hard to remember since it was 2 years ago and I was going so fast). I just remember my rpm needle being around the red which is 5700 on an LT1 car... Either way, one of my gauges must have been off

And remember, topping your car out periodically is a normal part of regular maintenance.

hahahaha just be safe everyone. I warped a set of rotors once on a straight highway... You come up on cars real quick at those speeds

I have 4.10s and you really don't need to worry.. I shift usually at 6500, my 4th gear ends at 120 something, and 5th is like lol idk a high 160 something. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise, talk to the people who HAVE brought their car WITH the gears your asking about to the speed they say.

I forget what rpm I was at in 6th gear, but it wasn't crazy high...3500-4k, maybe?

Middle of Nowhere, Kansas is great for that sort of thing. Might hit a tumbleweed, that's about it.

THats not too bad, but its a little steeper than I wanna be at for my daily commute I couldnt afford a rear end anyways hahaha. I imagine once I put 4.10's in I would never wanna stop ripping through the gears and racing from a dig
