FWIW I would have pulled the ABS fuse during the inbetween times of testing. Just so that the ABS system couldn't screw you over. Put the fuse back in when making a change and testing.

I might not have used the correct term. I was referring to the calculation of tire size and gear ratio that's used to calibrate the speedo. I doubt that's it since my low trac comes and goes. It seems like if that value was off it wouldn't be so intermittent.

When pulling the abs fuse, does that mess with the front/rear bias? I read someplace that it defaults to 50/50 vs the desired 70/30.

tried pulling codes with hptuners. no luck - no codes. thought for sure there would be some since i had the abs inop lights come on. when i start my car the lights are off. today i only had to drive 5 miles before the abs inop lights popped on. it's ranged from 5 to 35 before they come on. been a few times where they didn't come on at all.

do i need a different scanner to get to the abs codes?

well so far i replaced one sensor and that basicly fixed one of the sensors back there.. i was watching it with our scanner at work and at about 55-65 3 of the wheels are all reading about the same.. and then the sensor i havnt replaced yet was moving around about 6mph slower/faster then the other ones.. just all over the place.. but im going to swap sensors pretty soon and double check in the next day or 2..

did you grind on the new sensor you replaced also? what device were you using to monitor the sensors? i wonder if hptuners has that ability anywhere?

Hmmm, guess this is my next step. I bought a used moser, had some work done to it and around 70 I get the "low trac" light. No other lights and no codes. Gears went from 3:73 to 3:70. this should not be that big of a change to cause any issues, should it?

even after new sensors and adjusting for the new gear ratio i still get the abs/tcs lights. its such a bummer, especially when i'm thinking of selling the car. probably have to put the old rearend back in :-( i guess the positive is that other vendor rearends seem to have the same problem. i wonder how many mwc 4 channel are out there and how many of those have abs/tcs problems. not meant to bash but more to determine if there is a correlation somewhere.

I've got the same problem on my MWC 9", I get the abs inop and trac off lights around 60mph, I've tuned for gears and tire size.

I read this thread a week ago, and I'm glad I did because I got the same thing on my Strange 12 bolt. Apparently this is a common issue with aftermarket rear end makers. While an ABS/TCS system is composed of factory components, the rear end can make these components not work as intended. When the system functions perfectly with a stock rear, then the addition of an aftermarket rear makes these components no longer function, then it isn't the fault of the stock components. To suggest otherwise is just plain silly and ridiculous. I'm not bashing you or Strange, but let's give realistic answers to these people's problems.

While the ring not being properly seated could cause this, so could an out of round axle/flange. Thus exactly proving my point. This post shows you understand the rear and its components, making the above quoted post even further off the deep end.

I played around with mine today.. I still get the light at 70, but it doesn't seem to effect anything.. I only get "low trac".. I did some hard launches today. lit up the et streets and never saw a low trac light.. I have never got the ABS lights like others... You would think with the hides cooking the low trac light would come on... I don't understand this issue at all, I am even more confused.. But my car runs and does what it should, so I can live with a low trac light now and then.. When I have time I am going to check all the spec MWC listed and make sure they are correct.. BTW, anyone have a part number for abs/tcs sensor for 4 channel cars? I did screw up one sensor, it was loose and the end got ground down by the reluctor ring..

in hptuners i fooled with the abs pulses also to try to get it to work but no luck. i can drive 40-50 miles at 75 with no problem but then i can slow down to around 60 and bingo, on comes the abs inop and tcs lights. park the car and shut it off and next time i start it i'm good again for awhile!!

i got no help at hptuners when i asked there what adjusting the abs pulses actually does. it's so f'n frustrating. i've asked here a few times if there is anyone that has a 4 channel mwc that has abs working but get virtually no feedback.

I have had this problem with me MWC fab 9 from day one and that was almost 2 years ago. I run with the ABS fuse pilled but i would like a solution. I may swap side to side and try that out first
