The Strange 12 bolt is a great bolt-in rearend and affordable as well. it uses the stock style through bolt design to attach the torque arm so there is no concern about fasteners coming loose and causing alot of damage. Pm or call us for a quote or to discuss any rearend options for your f-body car. We are direct with Strange and Moser, and also manufacture the ever popular MWC fabricated 9 inch rearend, so whatever your needs and budget are we have you covered.

IF your not looking for new, start scowering the For Sale Section. MANY 12 bolts between 1400-1800$. Most have all the upgrades. I have no issues with my Moser other than the Tru Trac Diff which is WIDELY known for blowing up and acting like a spool. I would avoid, unless you can get a test drive in the car with it. Also to mention a few people blowing up Wavetracs so IMO look for Spools or Eaton HD posi. MAYBE a Detroit Locker if auto.

Take a look at the above link which explains why I don't recommend the 12 bolt rears for use with these torque arm equipped f body cars.

Either of the rears in these two links will do a great job for you. The first link is the standard Moser nine inch. The second link is Mosers fabricated nine inch, which includes an awesome torque arm and transmission crossmember. Both of these rears are currently on sale, and include free shipping. Bob

Problem with moser 12 bolts is improper installation. The strange is much Better cause of the thru bolts. My trutrack hasn't given me any grief. But I got it when It was first out five years ago. The hard part is deciding on what carrier you want.

You're right, that is the hardest part. Bob

We have had very good luck with all the Strange 12-bolts we have sold over the years.

Since this is going into a non ABS car and possibly rear drum brakes the nine inch may be cheaper and stronger cause how the Tq arm mounts to the rear housing. Not the pumpkin. The wavetrack seems to be stronger and more streetable than a locker or spool. Or you want the 12 bolt to stay GM? Moser makes their own tq arm for the 12 bolt to. Hopefully its drilled for it.

People have had problems with Strange 12 bolts after going to the dragstrip too, you can do a search on here to find threads about them. I agree with tillery, I would go with a nine inch. I currently have the Moser rears on sale. Bob

It would probably help if we knew the original poster's intended use for the car...I see a lot of mention of going to the drag strip, but it was never explicitly stated that that's what he was going to use it for. Granted, that's usually one of the big reasons why people go for bigger rear ends, but still...
