An alignment bar?

If you weld it up with framing squares or some other rig you're going to be ruining axles and axle bearings because of the misalignment.
This would be the best "by the book way to do it" but Alot of people have done it this way and for 40-50 years putting rears into other cars and been just perfectly fine with it.

As long as you are using squares, angle finders and tapes you should be fine.

I going to use mustang flange because it is smaller. If i deside to make a TA bracket it let me more clearance to work with the bracket.

I put my entire ford 9" factory housing in a lathe and spun it before we even touched it with the welder and it was way out from the factory. Not even close to being straight. I know it would be nice to build these in a jig and keep everything dead straight but for most thats just out of the question. The trick is to use a straight edge to keep the tubes straight and make tack welds in 4 places across from each other. Then make one weld all the way round without stopping, having someone rotate the housing. My housing is just as straight or straighter than it was from the factory. A nice straight edge can show you a lot. The 8.8 is a little more dificult becasue you have mismatched axel tube sizes.

^^Thats why I'm glad I'm doing mine a little different

I'll have a build thread in a month or so. I'm still gathering parts for my build, but its way more than just a rear end build up....more like a complete suspension overhaul

here is some info on the fox rear end.. they are smaller tubes and the 10 bolt ones will NOT go right in, you need to take alittle off the 10 bolt tubes, and actually bore out the 8.8 house since its a tapered tube since they press fit.. so i had mine milled down and bored so they would fit like a glove! worked perfect and you almost couldnt tell that there were 2 different tubes..
also here is my ladderbar set up as well..

Man your look nice. I started mine with idea of going with mini leadder bars but with all debates and stories of people not who like them i desided to keep my factory suspesion set up and finished with TA bracket in mine. It is very strong to break it have to take apart half the center section it has support everywere around the pumpkin.
