Default is my posi gone?

well first my car is a 2001 trans am 6spd. I know my posi used to work because about 3 months ago i did a burnout and left two nice and healthy black lines.

now today i tried to drive away from the house with one rear wheel on dry pavement and another in about 2 inch of snow. i went to drive away and the car wouldnt move with traction control kicking in and not letting me give any throttle. so i turned traction control off and the one wheel was just spinning its *** off. even my wife came over and said "i thought you had a posi?" Is my posi gone or because it was snow they are not effective. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

It's not a "posi". It's a Torsen and your stuck wheel
only gets 2X, max, the torque of one that slips. On
ice, that's approximately diddly.

It's supposed to slip a little when there is no load, like when there is ice. It does this so you can turn a corner without 1 tire hopping or dragging.
