Default Richmond powertrax diff???

Does anyone have one of these in their 10 bolt? I am considering beefing up the stock rear with the powertrax diff..I have a stock diff in the car right now and it has seen over 300 1.35-1.38 sixty foot times with no problems...but now it's starting to do one tire fryer's and it's pissing me off lol...I just want to know people's opinions on the powertrax differential and if it can hold the power...nobody think's my stock diff can hold 1.3 sixty foot's..but it does..just wondering if the powertrax is good enough for constant 1.3 60' times..Thank's,

Carter

Ever broke an axle? If not, that's impressive. What ratio are you running?

Never broke an axle or anything in the rear...My car has 39,000 miles on it and at 20,000 miles I put in a new stock replacement SLP 3 series carrier to get rid of my stock 2 series and 2.73 gears..and I put in a used set of 3.42's out of a 6-speed car and a girdle on it...never had a problem for 20,000 miles...and most of those miles are from launches and burnouts I want to get some info on these powertrax systems..it's sort of a locker..but I just dont know how strong they are and what they are capable of handling..I saw it on horsepower tv today and it looked like it actually would work well...but i want opinions on the unit's before i go rip my diff cover off and throw one in.Thank's,

I ran a Powertrax locker in my 9". Supposedly, it's able to hold 1000 ft./lbs. I beat the hell out of it on the track and on the street. Never had a prob with it.

This looks pretty sweet, and a whole bunch cheaper
than the T-2R. Curious about how it applies during
"power turns", etc.? Is there any downside you've
noticed as far as handling predictability, what is the
effect like if you are switching between locked and
differentiation while sweeping through a turn, etc.?
Is this an "all or nothing" deal (vs a smooth apply
or loss like limited-slip or Torsen)?

The structure looks like more robust than the Torsen,
the "locking" happens on toothed "jaws" and not just
metal-metal friction bind? That should cut holding
friction heat and wear almost to nothing even under
big power.

Plus "installs with hand tools, no setup"...

That locker can only be installed into an "open" differential. Sorry.

Bummer. Their car application .pdf has the Zexel
rear end blank. But it looks like it would go into
the stock rear if you used a V-6 (or other 7.625"
10-bolt, open) carrier? Are there any open
carriers that would fit the stock F-body rear,
that are known good / tougher than average?
