Default fab 9 or 9" housing?

Going to have a 9" built for my 1985 TA (3rd gen fbody)
was wondering, is it worth it to spend the extra on a fab9 apposed to a bolt in aftermarket 9"?

Is there that much of a difference in performance and weight to be worth it?

car will never see more then 600rwhp
if you'd like to post some company's that make this setup and your recomended set up with your answer, that would be great.
thanks

They claim the fab rears are lighter but it cant be by much. They also claim there more rigid and stronger but there are thousands upon thousands of cars making big power that use an oem housing. Most have back braces though. I like the fab housings but just cant see the need for a fast street car.

I had a Midwest Fabbed in my WS6 and have a Moser 9" in my race car. I will be going for a Midwest housing soon. They are alot lighter, look better and if you go for the Midwest setup its damn near the same price as if you were to buy a standard hhousing and a torque arm and you have a lighter and better setup.

The Moser fabricated rear is the same weight as the 10 bolt rear, so yes, it is a lot lighter than a standard nine inch rear. Check out this link. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-M9-...y-Complete.htm Bob

I have a MWC 9" in mine, and when I was swapping the rears I could feel the difference in weight between the 10 bolt and MWC 9" when i was moving it around, not sure how much lighter it is, but it is noticeable. The quality on their rear ends is amazing.

We can get one of our housings lighter than a 10 bolt no doubt depending on the options one chooses.
