Default When does the new Strange Diff come out?

Does anyone know the status of Strange's new 9 inch 35 spline limited slip type differential? I believe its similar in function to the wavetrac and trutrac. I have seen mention on this site about it going through testing, does anyone know when it will be available?

It's already in the S60's, the 9 inch will be later this year.

My first look at the new unit was at PRI in December last year, I knew it has been in the S60's for some time but didn't want to spill the beans because MWC has done the testing for Strange. Therefore I felt it only right they announce it. Now You know why I haven't replied to this thread before now.

Oh and I hope MWC will post up the details of the testing, I heard its been an adventure!

mwc - so what's the rundown on this? does this replace/upgrade an existing diff? does it require a special order requirement/higher cost, etc.

We do not have all those details as of yet as cost is up to Strange once it is released. Like Carl mentioned they have been using this in the S-60 for some time now with good results as you can see.

We have another unit in our possession as of yesterday and will be doing more testing with it for Strange but hopefully they are released sooner than later as we have already tested one and have gone 9.63 @144 using N20 with a t-56 TA and it worked perfectly and Strange was happy with the outcome after getting the unit back for inspection.

We are excited to see them released as we are hoping they are a great alternative in performance and cost for the nine inch.

Here is a picture of it in action for those wanting to see.

This is exciting news. I had no idea something like this was in the works. Hopefully it won't break the bank.

Thanks everyone for the info. Its good to see more options coming for a streetable and strong, 35 spline differential.
I would be interested to hear of the testing details.

Does the new cost cost more in the s-60 or did it just replace the standard tru-trac? How much of an upgrade is it? Thanks

Currently there is not any additional charge for the new unit. The old Tru-trac for the S60 is no longer available.

I hope they don't have a price increase in the future but only time will tell.

There isn't a ton of details that we can discuss at this time, we are deciding right now what vehicle we are going to put this in for testing this year, We are told Strange will be releasing this soon even though we will still be testing it.

As you can see people have been having good luck with them in the S60 for some time now.

just so i am clear - if i order an s60 this is the limited slip differential i would receive? it seems in 1 place it is being shipped and then in another strange hasn't released it yet?!? or r we just talking about the 9 inch diff? definitely interested in the cost difference between this 9 inch vs the 9 inch wavetrac. does it function like a limited slip or a locker?

Yes.

Hopefully MWC will/can ?? answer your 9" questions. I don't know what they are at liberty to talk about yet.
