4.10 Question Im going to be putting a set of Richmond 4.10's in my M6 LS1 Trans Am. Is it worth it to buy the install kit with new bearing and what not or would I be ok just getting the gears and a gasket. I obviously won't be installing them myself. Just a little tight on money and wanna know if the kit is a must...

at the very least, you will need crush sleeve, pinion seal,and a inner pinion bearing due to the fact it will most likely get damaged, when they remove it to get the shim that is below it...(it will be needed to find the centerline on the new gear setup).
i am almost positive you can buy just a shim kit , or what is called a mini install kit . try randys ring and pinion. (ringpinion.com)

I always recommend OEM AAM gears. Motives have had problems since production moved to korea. Richmonds are good and tough but are loud because of the metal used. My AAMs make a little noise now after being abused alot by an M6 but no where near as bad as a friends v6 firebird with richmonds.
