I have to ask what all the hoopla was about Kooks and delivery? Ordered mine yesterday and it is supposed to ship tomorrow as the UPS slip has been created today. Kidding.
The MWC 9" diff will take a little longer, which too bad, but I wanted to wait till I saw the results of the engine dyno and that it all remained solid before ordering anything new, in case funds were needed elsewhere.
Not sure if the exhaust will fit with my 12 bolt and Fayes Watts link or not. May have to give it a quick test fit as I will be wanting to hear the true dual rumble, which my F Body has never made.

By the way guys, In order to prevent the exhaust from rubbing the MWC 9" I ended up cutting about 1/4" off of the end of the X pipe, and that allowed the over the axle pipes to slide on to the x-pipe 1/4" more, providing enough clearance between the pipe and the rear end.
(this isn't my picture, I stole it from another member and added the circles)

That is good information, thanks. ^^
The Fays2 sits down pretty low, as the step up is done on the other side of the car. It had a lot more exhaust clearance than the stock bar, since it goes across on a diagonal. No rush for it but I will have a look and see.

Great thread, This has gave me alot of help. Ordering Kooks True duals this week! Has anyone seen Kooks True duals have any clearance problems with a Moser 12 bolt? Moser will be in the near future so i do not want to order a almost $2000 exhaust and not be able to fit w/ a moser that i will be needing.
Thanks!
Thanks!

LS1nut I can't answer your question on that as I have not seen it done yet but we are not very fond of selling customers 12-bolts on the fact they tend to be prone to gear noise issues. I did however talk to Kooks on the phone last week and we have a mutual customer that they are going to be building a custom exhaust for and they are going to look over our rear end and torque arm while it is at their facility. I did mention this particular customer and the changes he had to make.

Dinosaur
I know I'm digging up a dinosaur here, but has the fix you implemented (cutting 1/4 off the x pipe) worked for the duration?
I have the kooks TD on order and have been waffling on the MWC 9 because of the issue in this thread with the watts link hitting the exhaust..really hate exhaust clang.

I have kooks true duals and I have my fab9 on the way should be getting it mid march. I don't think it's a huge hassle to get it to fit, just some minor tweaking which I am fine with

Are you lowered at all?

It's not the MWC 9" rear that is the issue here... Its the Watts Link track locator. The 9" rearend should be in the same place as the 10 bolt, but with a slightly larger OD axle tube(2.75" 10 bolt- 3.00" MWC 9). The 1/8" difference on each side shouldn't cause any exhaust issues. If it did then nearly 1000 MWC 9" rears that are out there would all have issues with exhaust.
Fact is that the Watts link we make has the best exhaust clearance of any locator, but the Kooks 3" duals simply takes up the most space of any system. Can it be done... sure. You can't have a car that is lowered to the earth and you have to take some time fitting up the duals exhaust system to achieve the most clearance possible.

You will most likely just need the PHB relocator for the body side. I personally have never installed one of our rearends with a Kooks TD system and the Watts all together at the same time, but we have several customers that have.

Thank you, I've already done the phb reloc. so I'm good there. I'm going to do a little more research but most likely I'll be ordering a rear from you guys in the near future.
