IMO: 10 bolt underrated.
I have an 404 hci m6 car that has just under 50k and ive had it for 7 years.
Stock 3.42 10 bolt, changed fluid in it once.
Notes:
-Ive had a nitrous ls1 that got it to 12.1 on street tires (old setup).
-Ive blown my engine and my transmission, so its not like it's being babied.
-I currently probably have just shy of 550/500 rwhp/tq on a 404 stroker, hci, and nitto drag radials. I obviously spin sometimes, but there's been no shortage of decent launches and hard shifts. Full weight.
-Textralia clutch, drill mod, nitto DR 275s.
-Just finished another season and it stayed together just fine.
Obviously using my common sense, ive been preparing to get a 9inch.... but dang... if it aint broke, I don't think it needs to be fixed. I havent been to the track with this setup but I really don't think itll have any problems handling some hard launches and 1/4 miles.
My closest few friends that are into fbodies all have stock 10 bolts and they have not broken them. Similar use/setups.
In your list, however, I don't see any REAL tires listed either, but that mindset doesn't answer why mine broke just cruising.
How long you been running the Nitto DR's?

1.9x 60' isnt exactly what I would describe as beating on the car.
10 bolt will live in a street car with a street tire. Nittos are noting but street tires.
My best with the 10 bolt before blowing it up was a 1.76, best with my 12 bolt was 1.48 and I have blown it up 4 times.
The 1.76 was a 12.0. The 1.4s/1.5s were 11.0 and high 10s.
If you are no better than 1.8s, I can believe it. Nitto 555rs are hardly stickier that stock. Put a Hoosier QTP on there and I bet 1 6000 rpm launch cooks it.
Lots of 10 bolts have blown up, and I mean lots, mostly 6 spds with traction and high rpm launches.
..FYI, it did break 1 time when I was driving around town @2000rpm. Youre just lucky. But dont change it if it aint broke!!

My opinion is the same as many others, if your racing it, your breaking it. There are $2000 & $3000 rear ends out there breaking as well. If your throwing 800 or more at it then I aggree, it probably wont last.
Same as a supercharger making 800 on a stock bottom end. One day its gonna break. I think with todays aftermarket suspension products and a chasis tune, the 10 bolt will last for longer than you think.
Nothing wrong with the 9", 12 bolt or Dana 60 they are far superior units than the factory. But so is forged internals.
