Oops... So my car started making a noise when taking off from a stop. If I got in it really hard the noise went away for a while. I knew something was wrong because it sounded like the Predator was riding in the backseat or hatch with me. So I pulled the cover off and this is what I found. ***** a 10bolt.
On a side note, does that look like an Auburn unit? I have no clue what posi unit is in the car.

Take a good look at the ring and pinion gears. What I can see looks good. If there are no broken teeth you're good. The axle gear sometimes called the side gear is broken. You should be able to get parts and just fix it.

No, what you see that is broken is a spider gear, The side gears look fine from here, however, trying to fix a failing posi unit is stupid. Do it once, do it right.

I've heard of a few people who had complaints about their 9". Why aren't you happy with yours?
I can deal with the gear wine, my car was raised 1" on the rear, de/engagement noise/ clunks, acts like a spool on tight turns, I'm sure that I'm forgetting something else. For a piece that was almost 3k it just doesn't feel like money well spent, just my opinion..
