so apparently my car has 3.23s?
just checked this link http://www.f-body.org/gears/ and entered the trans revolution/mile 2,212(ecm via hptuners) and tire size under a 98 a4 and it calculated to 3.23s?
i was under the impression i had 2.73s. bare in mind my car was bought where the original owner swapped an ls1/motor/driveshaft and possibly rearend into a 98 v6 firebird. the car shifts at 5700RPMs at 95mph from 2nd to 3rd gear, does that sound like 3.23s?

it's easy if you want to tell for sure, take the rear tire off, grab your good old sharpie marker and put a line on your brake rotor, use your rear shock as the other marker, while the rearend is in the air put the car in nuetral, have someone turn the driveshaft and count how many full driveshaft revolutions it takes to get the rotor to do 1 complete revolution using your stock shock to line up with the line on your brake rotor, if turns slightly less than 3 turns it's a 2.73 if it turns slightly more than 3 revolutions its a 3.23

I just did that last night by myself. Really no need for 2 people. I found out my M6 car has 273's in it
I was actually almost happy because I think the car si pretty fast now but I know it will be a beast after I put 4.10s in it!!!

if the car was a v6 there's a good possibility that it still has the stock rearend from the v6 days, which would be a 3.23
the RPO codes on your door should give you a hint.
GU2 is 2.73 GU5 is 3.23, GU6 is 3.42.
Most Ls1/T56 cars were GU6/3.42, most LS1/A4 cars were GU2, 2.73 with a GU5 optional. Most v6 5 speeds at least were GU5, however some had GU6 as well. (I think auto v6s had GU6? Only encountered one.)
Most v6 cars are open diff however, where ls1 cars are posi.
If you're only laying 1 line of rubber, you very well could have the stock v6 rear.
but for this fact, i'd have already swapped the GU5 rear from my 98 v6 into my ls1 GU2 car.
