Do you currently have 3.23s? If so, ET reduction from a 3.73 swap with the 3800 stall already in your sig will be limited to about 1 tenth.

I had 3.73 in my 97 z28... with the longtubes ORY and cutout open it was a mean SOB... i could roast the hell out of the tires at will. The Butt-O-Meter approved.

Yes, top end will be reduced some with the 3.73s, but you'd still be able to hit around 130mph at ~6500 rpm with a stock tire diameter in 3rd gear (much higher if your trans can handle a WOT upshift into OD).
You will lose MPG with the 3.73s though. Not a huge difference, but there will be a loss. Just something else to consider.

But I understand your reasoning, and think this would be (and is) a good option for 2.73 cars that want more gear.

Wouldn't recommend doing the 4.10's or higher if it's a DD car. I'm doing 2500 rpm's at 70 in mine. The get up is nice but not fun when cruising down the highway. Gas mileage suffers.

I noticed a huge performance feel going from 2.73 to 3.73. I also had a 3200 stall and then swapped to a 4000 stall. I loved it..
I sold that car and now looking into another fbody with 3.73.. But my car wont really be a DD so im wondering how a 4000 stall and 4.10 gears in an auto will perform.

In my opinion if ur trying to better ur 1/4 mile times would look at converters o went from 2.73 to 3.73 picked up 2 tenths added a yank 4000 ss picked up 4 tenths more car still drove good on the street but I know every set up is different. Good luck

I really liked my 3.73's when I had my 10 bolt. Good on the highway and still had good get-up. I'd do the 3.73's for a nice street car. You can really roast the tires with the 4.10's though which is fun and you do notice quicker acceleration. Just not a fun highway car.
