I've searched and I've searched and decided to just ask the experts..

What's the name of this part and where could I find one? Same old story: bolts backed out, got popped, created a vent in the diff cover. My story has a twist: That which was once one is now two.

 

do a search for 'torsen' in this 'gears & axles' forum and try to find someone that broke(broke in a different area) and replaced their torsen and see if they'd be willing to sell that particular part.

I've seen many threads of broken/replaced torsens.

 

i destroyed the invex gearing on my torsen, but still have it for moments like these. If you want it, shoot me a pm with a price and i can send it to you (the entire diff). I was thinking about replacing them, but i figured it would be easier to just find another diff; hence the two missing bolts and race still being on.

 

I'd buy another used unit. Not worth the trouble, and nobody to my knowledge makes replacement parts for it. I sold a complete working torsen last year for like $90 shipped.
