Default Getting a better rear end?

I have a 98 ls1 a4 so I have the shitty 10bolt 7.5 rear end. Is there a replacement rear end or do I just have to keep buying new ones once this one goes out?

I have sold over a million dollars worth of Moser rears for these cars over the years. The link above is to the most popular Moser rear that I have sold. Let me know if you have any questions. Bob

It really depends on what your goals and plans for the car are. The A4 trans will be much less violent on the driveline parts, but still not subject to failure.

Any aftermarket rearend will run you in the range of 2000.00 or more when it's done and depending on what you want to do with the car and your budget there may be alternatives.

Give me a call and I can get you the the correct info you need or quotes on more than just one option. MWC is a direct dealer for Strange, Moser, Yukon, and many other manufacturers and we also manufacture the ever popular bolt-in true fabricated 9 inch package. If you decide to upgrade parts on the 10 bolt, then I have a great deal on the right combo of parts you need there as well.

I think I'm just gonna do an hci setup so ill probably be making like 400 - 420hp. Will the stock re handle that or no? Could I just leave it alone or do I have to add some **** to it?

The stock rearend will not handle much abuse, but with some upgrades can go quite a ways. You have to make the decision whether to put money into the 10 bolt and still have it at risk, or just go right in to an aftermarket rearend.

I have H/C/I on 315 dr's making about 450 rwhp and it has held up for over a year now on my M6. But I don't go to the track either. I understand that might not be the norm but so far so good.

If you plan on having your fun at the track the 10 bolt will take the fun out of it. If its your weekend toy doing some spirited street driving it will be fine.

same here, still on stock 10 bolt, with the only mod a TA Girdle. it does not whine and it has seen the drag strip a few times (before H/C/I) and i still beat on the thing every once in a while. i have an M6 as well. some of these 10 bolts have been into the 10's on the strip, and some have broken under stock power, it is just a crap shoot with these things
