Default Pwr level of a 8.8 with a 6speed ?

The time has come for me to move my built 8.5 10 blt to my '67 Chevelle Wagon that will be runnin an Auto LS Setup...... after 7 yrs behind my M6 LS setup in The ' 72 SS Camaro . Just finished New axles .R & P , bearings ect. & it is not gonna live with the stick anymore.
I am looking at a 8.8 with 35 spline gun drilled Moser Axles , C Clip Elim. ect. How much PWR will it hold , CAR is......
H & C Ls1 M6 all bolt on's = 460 RWH ...420 RWTQ
Coming over winter Dual Stg Plate Kit Leaving on 100 shot
with a 2nd Stg of 100 shot in on 2nd Gear to start with ,
Kit will go to 400HP .
I have been runnin 4:56's for Track & Street , how much Drop in Gear Ratio will be needed for the added Hit of the Plate Kit ?

My buddy is making 800+rwhp in his 3800lb 07 GT500 M6 with a 3.55 geared, stock axle 8.8! He runs the car pretty hard at the track on slicks and DRs! I would think that your car should be a good bit lighter than his and shouldnt have too many problems out of a built 8.8! Thats just my $.02 though.

It will hold a ton more than you have plans for. There are several 800+ HP Mustangs running them with slicks.

Just make sure you build it with quality parts and for the power level you plan to run. In other words, don't plan on using a weak old posi unit behind 800 HP, etc.

You should NOT have any issues with that 8.8 with the internals planned. 35-spline axles are very tough! As mentioned there are MANY fast mustangs running these very same set ups although they are lighter weight than us and can get away with A LOT... You are GOLDEN...

You don't need the same thread in two different sections. They've been merged.
