rear end install question?

Question rear end install question?

Ok guys my rear end will be here this week. Anything special I need for the install. I'm doing it myself and I would like for it to go off without any hitches. TIA guys

Jack upcar
support on stands on the lca mounts on the body leave jack under axle to keep the weight off brake lines
take off tires
unhook shocks
unhook drive shaft
unhook torque arm
unhoook wiring and brake hose
un hook panhard
unhook lcas
grab one side of axle and let the jack down
and its out

It's actually not too bad... I've done three rear end swaps with the help of friends. Takes about 4 or 5 hours if you're doing it for the first time. Or if you're BSing a lot.

Well we will see if its that easy or not? Oh and one more thing about where the driveshaft and diff connect. Isn't there like a bearing or something like that I have to get pressed on by like a auto shop or something? TIA for info

Look at the older posts in this board, I just installed one with help from guys on here. You need the shop to press on the exciter rings from your old axles (if you want ABS/TCS), the bearings for C-clip eliminators, etc.

If your new diff has a 1350 yoke, you'll need a 1310-1350 conversion u-joint as well... You can get it at Napa, part #447.

I think it's a 447X they're a little different than the 447s...
