Thanks for all the help...ordered a MWC 9" a couple days ago and looking forward to bolting it up. After that I'll be set to eventually go turbo and make some big power, but that's not for a couple years.

S-trac
backbrace
PC'ed
Long TA
3:90's

Hopefully gears make as big of a difference as everyone says for the fun factor.

Lol not hard at all. I dove into it not knowing a damn thing. Got it done from start to finish in half a day. Just make sure you have a press for the bearings and a propane torch to take out the stock u joint. Very easy, just meticulous. Just take your time

^^ yeah, I'll have to call around for a press....just gonna have a shop or auto parts store do it. After looking at some write-up's it seems pretty basic.

Did you notice a big difference from 3.42's to 3.90's ?

For me the main thing I notice is I break loose in 1st to 2nd where I didn't used to. Wouldn't say it is huge especially with the added weight of the new parts, but noticeable.

Should have stepped up to a 5.80 if you wanted it to feel like 50 rwhp.

I also went from 3.42 to 3.90's. I would not say its like a 50 hp difference. I used to not spin very much just some in first gear that's it. After I switched I had no traction in first or second. I would really recommend them. I still pull hard on too end too. I love my 3.90's

I'm looking forward to seeing how the whole car feels after...especially with the gears. I'll put my 315 dr's to the test.

So I'm gonna get everything prepped and start removing the 10 bolt since my pinion seal is leaking again. Is there any drawback to taking out the 10 bolt completely then removing the backing plates while the rear is on jacks stands? I don't see why there would be I just don't wanna get ahead of myself.

Where it goes over the axle. If you REALLY close, you can see where it rubbed on the angled portion of the housing - use the exhaust clamp bolt on the other side of the axle in this pic as a direction/location reference. Just be sure to check everything when the suspension is loaded.

I see it....did you end up grinding the housing a bit or were you able to angle the pipes over toward the passenger side. I know on mine the exhaust is already touching the frame of the car. I had to put a hi-temp hose in between the two to stop the banging.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Shortened the pipes and moved it forward enough to clear. Mine was touching like yours too. We cut the straps holding the pipes and retacted them closer together. No more rattles or banging.
