Well it appears that we were ripped off on the driveshaft! Mikey spoke with Denny himself and determined the the shaft was NOT one of his. We bought this shaft from a member of one of the LS1 forums who said it was a Denny's shaft. Funny how he is not in Denny's database. Moral of this story is do not buy anything sight unseen!

On a good note, Denny is getting one of his nitrous ready shafts ready for us on short order. There is a normal 3 week lead time and Denny is turning this one in less than a week

Props to Denny's and my apology goes out to them.

That just figures. The NR DS has Denny's written on it I do believe.

so it was NOT a denny's driveshaft!!! you got ripped off but not from a
good company like denny's. here you are telling everyone you broke a
denny's driveshaft and all along it was built by someone else. seems
pretty rotten to accuse someone of something without knowing for sure.
why did you think it was a denny's??? because the other guy said so???
didn't you think that there should be some sort of marking on it to
show? buying things on the net is always risky especially when you buy
from an individual. i have had great luck with denny's driveshafts and
when I needed my shaft shortened they did it for FREE with only a small
charge for materials....think it was $25.00. i saved a bundle. his
free lifetime labor covers such things. i know you will be pleased
with that nitrous ready shaft it is by far the strongest shaft you can
get. i have the 3 inch heavy duty shaft which is the next step down and
it is the best money I have spent so far. are you going to have the car
fixed soon? can you save anything? good thing you had a driveshaft
loop. nobody should race a car without a loop, even with a good
driveshaft, its just good common sense. you'll always have far less
damage if you have a loop. they have a 3 week wait? it was only 2
weeks when I got mine. moral of this story is buy from a trusted
company and pay the price otherwise you'll pay a bigger price later when
something goes wrong and don't badmouth anyone...things will break and
parts will fail and that's all part of racing

come on man, he just explaned that it was not a dennys shaft and that he got ripped off. it was a simple mistake and is already handled with. hopfully he can give the guy that sold him that want a be dennys shaft a bad feedback on the buyers feedback forum so we will all watch out for that bad seller.

I wasn't badmouthing anyone! I think it's pretty rotten that after I come on here and say that I got ripped off because someone sold me the DS that wasn't what it was suppose to be and I apoligize and retract my statement, that you make one like this! Mikey was told that this "was" a Denny's DS. We normally don't deal w/ DS's so we didn't know what we were getting. Why we didn't buy it new from Denny's? Cause this guy (a friend of Mikey's as well) said it was one and that we would have it quicker. So we bought it.
I know the moral of the story. And I know what racing is about, I do it and I work in the industry as well! Yes things break and fail but if you actually read my post you would know why I am upset! A part broke on my car that I was told would never break and took out alot of expensive parts with it!! The is why I'm mad! I know things will break ,I'm not an idiot.

Not ready to see 's yet. Remember to post pics, this outta be good. If this happened to me, I would also be doing a shorts changeout too

Dude, settle down a little. If it hadn't been stated that the shaft turned out NOT to be a Denny's, then it would be an issue, but as it stands the story is accurate.

For reference, here's a pic of the Denny's Nitrous Ready shaft next to the stock piece:

Is anyone here using a Carbon Fibre DS. I know they are pricy but might be worth it.

From what I know they are supposed to be strong and reduce driveline vibration.

Also in the event that they do break they're suppose to just disintegrate and not cause any damage.

Can they handle constant hard launches and abuse?

I have the stock shaft in mine still and I get driveline vibration between 75 and 90 MPH.

Glad to hear your OK by the way, that is a scary thing to happen.

I heard the Carbon Fiber DS is great but it is pricy! I hope to someday convert over to that one. After this experience, the damage one can cause if it let's go is worth the extra $$$ I think

i read somewhere that the carbon shafts are held together with glue and if you have a heavy car the glue can break.....and when it breaks, you have a $800 paperweight!
