Get your facts straight Mike. I ran 1.4s all day (6 passes, I think) and its still working today (I just cant hook anymore). It wheel hopped and broke before my heads/cam, back when it was 1.5 60s.

I have a motive 3.90s, torsen unit, summit cover.

The 99 Formula in my sig went 1.83 on BFG drag radials with a 3000rpm quick slip. Spec 3 clutch, completely stock driveshaft/torque arm/3.42 rear. It has never made any noise. 100k miles

The 00 TA in my sig went 1.78 3 passes in a row on NT555's, stock 3.42 rear, and sportlines with a slipping stock clutch. I was more aggressive with this one. I think it was a 4000rpm quick slip. The track was like fly paper so I had no spinning or wheel hop. This rear does not make any more noise than it already did. 160k miles.

I'm feeling like some max performance summer tires are in order for next summer.

Stock 133k 3.23 rear end behind an auto with 3600 stall at full weight, only reduction was adding billet specialties big and littles. Stock heads/cam/ls1 intake. Just a 75 shot and exhaust.

Was a manual trans.

Best part was, I had bought a friend race fuel just to come out with me in case my car broke, he would drive his 70 SS elcamino back home and trailer my car. Needless to say, he broke first pass off the trailer after I already broke. So, tow his way back home, then come way back and get mine. And when we got back to get mine they were STILL cleaning the mess from his drive shaft exploding and knocking the tail shaft apart and spraying trans fluid down the track.
