Default Rear fluid for Moser 12 Bolt?

Did a search and saw people using different oils.

Ordered it with 3.73s.

What oil are most people running and how much do I put in?
Oh and when people use 2 quarts, are they using 2 quarts plus the slip adative?

Thanks

Just get any non-synthetic 80w90 gear oil for the Moser, since it doesn't take synthetic. I put in 2.5 quarts of the Napa brand fluid ($1.99 a quart), plus two 4 oz. tubes of limited slip additive.

Did you get a T/A cover with it by chance? If not, filling can be a pain... the fill hole on the side of the housing is a 9/16" Hex. The only place that sells a 9/16" hex key that I could find was Snap-On, so it was expensive. If you have the T/A cover, it has a fill hole near the top of it that takes a 3/8" hex, which is a common size. Also make sure you get one of those hand pumps that screws to the top of the gear oil bottles... makes filling it much, much easier.

Just don't overfill it, 2.5 quarts of fluid is the most I'd put in.

I just threw the side plug that came with mine away.....

Bought a new plug from the parts store that has a regular 1/2" square hole in it.

Guy's, just take a 3/8's bolt to the length of your desire and double nut it on your ratchet end you have a 9/16's hex head.
