Question Help me ID my 9in???

I bought a car as a roller which came with this 9"... No idea what its from but whats the deal with the collar behind the pinion? I'm a noob when it comes to rearends but it doesn't look like a typical 9in to me...? I've done some research and haven't seen anything similar yet.

The problem is I'd like to measure for a driveshaft but don't want to re-make the shaft next year if i switch center sections/gear ratios. I'm not sure if this center section has the same distance from u-joint CL to housing face as I have nothing to compare too at the moment.

Thanks!

Never seen that before, might be some kind of vibration dampener. I'd remove the pinion nut & yoke and pull it off. There are procedures for reinstalling the yoke w/o trashing your crush sleeve. Also, keep in mind there are (at least) two different pinion yoke lengths...

Thanks for the info, i will try that for sure. did some more research and apparently it is indeed a dampener found on broncos and old lincolns.
