Default Noise coming from the rear(video)

I've had this noise for a while now and it seems to be getting worse. Doesn't go away when turning and gets louder the faster you go all the way until you stop. It's a loud humming noise with what sounds like slight grinding. Diff fluid is clean. It's also not road noise. Has done it with two sets of new tires. Any ideas by the video or just what I should look for/check? Also in the video you can here me accelerate a bit.

It would be super helpful if you list all your mods, what you did recently, and if this sound started after doing some work or anything like that. Video wouldn't load for me.

Sounds like you have a pinion bearing going out. Rearend ever had anything done to it or is it completely stock? What's the mileage? I had a 2000 SS a few years ago with a similar sound and it ended up having a bad pinion bearing. The Car had 160k miles on it.

Car is a 00 WS6 with 87k miles and a LM2 only. Other then that completely stock. Haven't done anything to it recently and I bought the car in March and it's been there since I bought it. Was just a lot quieter. Never noticed it when I was looking at the car because you couldn't really hear it with the window down and like I said it's gotten worse.

Definitely sounds like a pinion or wheel bearing whine. My old rear end made the same noise for over 2 years before I pulled it for my full rebuild.

Still looking for any opinions. The pinion bearing was what I originally thought it could be but wouldn't the u joint have play in it?

Do you have any driveline vibration while accelerating/decelerating?

Completely forgot about this thread. So I took it to a shop a few weeks ago and was told it is probably the pinion or carrier bearing and that both would need to be changed and hopefully no damage to the gears have been done. I'm pretty confident that the gears have been damaged as well. So I will need a rear end rebuild or to just ditch the ten bolt altogether. So I am currently working on getting a cheap daily driver. Can't get the TA worked on until I have something else to drive and retiring the TA to a nice weekend warrior was the plan from the get go. So this is just expediting the need for a dd. Wasn't hoping to have to do all this so soon. Haven't even had the car a year.
