Default Which Limited Slip for turbo truck

OK members I need help! I have a 2005 Sierra with baby 4.8 and just finished the turbo install. also did the 80e with hd2 swap and currently happy with the stock rearend gear ratio 3.23 but need a lsd cuz the open diff not cutting it. It is my daily driver but would like to take it down the strip and see what she runs 1/4, whether i get radials or slicks or just run street tires. currently running on 8lbs daily and can turn it up to just smoke the tire on the streets. What lsd can handle the 400hp street to 600+ track? ive looked at auburn and yukon clutchpack style and also detroit trutrack, dont want a spool or welding the spider gears. and fyi it is a stock 10bolt with 30 spline axles.

Just had a buddy go through this. Ended up making the 14 bolt swap, not a bad option for you, it would be bulletproof.

You have a 8.5 rear end stock. I would buy a Yukon posi and use your stock gears. That way you can see how it does, then go from there

yeah i thought about doing the 14 bolt swap or a 12 bolt. I had a 3.5" steel driveshaft built with the 1350 slip yoke for the 80e and the stock gm 10 bolt rear yoke. Does the pinion yoke differ from 10 to 12 & 14 bolts?

Not sure, but 14 bolts are cheap and abundant, you could sell your DS to recoup the money of a new one.

They do have 14 bolts that have 6 lug axles. They came in the heavy halves and some suburban's. Only problem is that they have C-clip axles. Not sure if you can get the eliminators. There are different yokes to fit the 14. We have the full floater in our mud truck. We got the Detroit Locker set up that goes inside the carrier. Works unbelievably good. Its always locked until you go around a corner under minimal power. You will actually hear a ratcheting sound. You want it to lock, hit the throttle, and it instantly locks. Been beating on it for over ten years. 44 boggers and a stick. Will pull the wheels about a foot off the ground for ten feet. 450hp and a 150 shot. Just not too many gear options. 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, and 4.56 I believe. The 6 lug version will bolt right to your drive shaft. So im sure you can use that yoke for the other one.
