3.23 to a 4.10 questions
I am going to change out my stock 3.23's to a 4.10. What can I expect from a 1/4 mile time difference and in my MPH. Also would changing the gears make me spin more or less? I currently don't have a traction problem. (MT ET street pros are the bomb!!)
any comments would be greatly appreciated.

When I went from 3.23s' to 4.56s',it was a consistent gain of .46 1/4 mile. A stock street car with some suspension mods. Didn't run the 4.56s' for any specific purpose. Needed to rebuild the 3.23 rear(carrier bearings). Since I work on rears and had a housing,a set of used 4.56s',and all the other parts needed, why not. Ran the 4.56s' for 4 years. The 3.23 rear is back in,the 4.56 rear is going back in when weather warms up,and gonna build a 4.10 rearend.
4.56s' with an A4 was a wicked 1st and 2nd gear on the street, but that was with a TCI 2800 convertor. Looking forward to the 4.56 rear going back in with the current Yank SS3600.

With an SS3600 already in place, the ET difference shouldn't be huge. I'd expect no more than about two tenths of ET reduction, assuming you can get equal traction. As a comparison, 3.23 to 3.73 is worth no more than one tenth of ET reduction with a 3500+ stall speed already in place (4L60E/LS1 combo).
Traction will indeed be more difficult with the 4.10s.
