Help!
First off,
2001 Ws6
Livernois Heads/cam/intake/200 shot car
Faceplated Tick t56 and hydraulics
ACT clutch
12 Bolt Rear
Full suspension -kmember
(I'm not sure if the rear is a Strange, or a Moser. I havent had the time off to get the car up high enough to look yet.)
Just took my first already built fbody on trade. I've always steered towards stockish fbodys and done what I want with them.
So, just got it running and took it for a drive, and the rear end sounds and looks like it's trying to rip itself out of the car when turning.
Anything more than a quarter turn of the steering wheel in either direction, and the rear end starts banging, the car hobbles horribly, and it sounds like its dragging one wheel or the other.
Had a buddy watch from outside, and he said it looks like its shifting forward and back with every bang it makes. The car drives absolutley perfect with no noise whatsoever in a straight line.
This is my first aftermarket rear in an fbody. I've always had excellent luck beating 10 bolts hard, and with more power than they should even be given gently. What am I most likely looking at? Bearings? Gears? Whole carrier?

Pretty similar, but mine seems quite a bit more violent just turning slightly than his did on the lock. I'm afraid to even attempt making that tight of a turn with how harsh it is. It does however seem better at higher speed.

Pull the cover or contact whomever you bought it from and see if it has a spool. If it's banging around as violently as you say, getting under and giving a good visual on all the rear suspension items and torque arm should point you in the right direction. What size and type of tire is in the rear? If it's a wide sticky tire then the tire bind/scrub can be more pronounced.

Already tried calling Livernois, but they're apparently not very easy to get into contact with. Reasons I buy from TSP. 🤣

the rear suspension seems fine, theres no play anywhere and everything is bolted in tight.
