Does your 97 RS 3.8 have 3 channel ABS only or 4 channel ABS & TC traction control ?

Can you take the parts from a 4 channel and put them on a 3 channel?

Why not put a limited slip differential in the V6 rear end? Is that not a thing?
Something like this. This one even comes with a ring & pinion. Limited slip diff

I have the 4 cannel in my car and I have a 3 channel on my workbench. Can I take the wheel sensor and axles off the 4 channel and put it on the 3 and have everything work? I want to put a new posi and 4.10’s into the 3 channel rear and bolt on extra axles and wheel speed sensors I have on. That way I have both rears to switch back and forth when needed. The 4.10 will be for racing and I’ll use the 3.23 for long rides and Sick Week stuff. The 4 channel rears are harder to find.

If the car is a 4 channel, (ABS & TC), yes you can take/use the axles and backing plate assemblies off the in car 4 channel rear end and use them with the 3 channel rear end housing and the 4 channel system will function properly.
Since you mentioned 3.23s' then you have an auto. I run 4.56s' almost all the time (I think the 3.23 rear was put back in once) and do the freeways/interstates all the time. Even took a few trips from Ohio to Florida with the 4.56s'. For my 98Z it wasn't worth the hassle of changing complete rearend just to gain 3mpg and lose the fun factor.

Mine is a 6speed but I blew the 3.42’s that were in it before so I found a set of 3.23’s and put them in. I live in florida so 4.10’s all the time isn’t awesome but not horrible.
