Default 9" center section question

It seems that there are 3 center sections

Stock center section?
Nodular iron center section. Good for street/strip
Aluminum center section. Good for strip.

I have a detroit locker with 4.10 gears and a stock center section. Is this going to hold up on a bolt on/cam 6 speed car or should I get a Nodular iron or Aluminum center section?

the stock ford center piece will work fine for you but it's not as strong as the aftermarket pieces offered by Moser or Strange.

I guess the stock center section will be the weak link.

With a 6-speed I would go with a aftermarket nodular case at the very least. You can get a Strange case for a little over $200.

Is it very hard to move the locker over to the new case, or will I have to pay somebody to set it up?

Aluminum here and street driven regularlly
no problems yet , hopefully it won become an issue, the car sees street and strip what have you read bad bout it for the street?

The only bad thing I have heard about the aluminum case is that it requires bearing replacement more often if it is driven on the street.
