Whining in the rear end
we need more details to be able to answer you... when does it do it? acceleration, deceleration? are they aftermarket gears or stock? when it does do it is the sound constant or is it more in waves?
someone please correct me if i'm wrong, because i'm basing my answer off of my own bad experiences with my 10 bolt...
if the "waves" of the sound are more spaced out that usually indicates a bad bearing.
i would imagine that since its doing it on both acceleration and deceleration it would have something to do with the way the gears are set up. if its not very loud then i wouldn't worry about it.
my gears whine under decel, and i'm under the impression that it is caused for an incorrect pinion depth.

My rear just started to whine about 3 days ago when driving above 20 MPH at all times. I still have the stock 10-bolt with 3.42's. Could it possibly just need lubrication or is the cam taking out the rear? I never launch the car becasue I am trying to conserve the rear until summer. Good thing it's stowed away in the garage until certain weekends.

Sounds like carrier bearings to me. When they replaced gears they set preload to high on bearing and burned them up most likley. I is possible a pinion bearing but my nickle is on the carrier bearings.
