How do i keep my 10 bolt alive???
Well i took my car to the track, got the nittos sticky, and dumped it at 3 grand. the car didnt move and the driveshaft exploded. I got it towed to my local dealership and they fixed it and told me that the rearend has about a 1/4 inch of lash in it. I ask them if they would warrenty it, and they said no not till it broke. So now it aint broke yet and i wont get it out till next summer. So my warrenty will be expired and i my rearend is still shot. Is there anything i can do to make it stronger. I really dont want to do a 12 bolt, and i am doing 4:10's this summer. I have a new clutch spec stage 3. Any help is appreciated, and sorry for the long post.
YEAH MY SECOND POST,
YEAH MY SECOND POST,

Hot Rod magazine had an article "Building a Bullet Proof 10 Bolt" , dunno how much good it will do you but you might want to search their archives for that article. Or think 12 bolt.

your under warrenty, i work at a gm dealer and we can not refuse u unless no problem is found, if u give us a direct complaint like excessive backlash in the ring and pinion we will fix it. find a different dealer and tell them your problem if they refuse tell them you are gunna call the zone rep. then i guarentee u will be talking to a manager about your ride cause gm has something called c.s.i customer service index rating, its basically a poll on how well we do our job, they will fix your ride trust me.

well, it sounds pointless to get it fixed if it will just break again, i really want this car to run mid 12's and i will be putting some money in it this summer, so i might just take the 12 bolt route. Hey anyone from pa, hows stropes speed shop. any quality. here is there web site. www.stropespeedshop.com

At least get it fixed and you might try to sell the one you get to help you save for the 12 bolt.

If it doesn't cost you anything fix the 10 bolt under warranty , then fix it. Just like everyone said , start saving up for a 12 bolt and use the the 10 bolt gently until then..

yes if u bring your car in for a complaint on the rear end and there is a repair order written about it, they will have to fix your car if it breaks out of warrenty unless its over 60k i think. just bring it in there and tell them the rear has alot of backlash. if u tell them its noisy the will test drive it and turn on the radio and act like theres no problem cause theyre dicks like that i know. lol
