Default 3.90's whine?

I'm about to order a Strange 12 bolt but I'm torn on gears. I was happy to see that Strange offered the 3.90 but they say it's noisy and not recommended for a street car. BTW, I wanted the 3.90 because I do alot of highway driving (ALOT) and it seems like a good in between gear. (good low and decent highway) Is there any reason why these are noisy and does anyone know of a way to quiet them down? Or am I going to have to go 3.73 to have a quiet rear?

I don't think that gear ratio is the key factor in gear noise, but rather the manufacturer and gear material. I've tried Richmond Gear, Mark Williams and others and all aftermarket gears tend to whine a bit.
