Eaton Locker - Any Good?
This will be in a 10 bolt.

If I could get a descent deal on this part to replace my broken auburn will this suffice? Or will there be some other issues I am unaware of?
Thanks!

i have an auburn unit that might be for sale if its all good the rear shop was supossed to put a ring/pinion in my car then they called and said i needed a new posi unit as well, then said a new eaton unit would be like 400$. i told them forget about it (1000$ on a 10 bolt my ***) and i went and picked the car up and ordered my moser 12 bolt. now that i have it all apart, i cant find a damn thing wrong with the stock posi unit. they tried to screw me and ended up screwing both of us.
shoot me a pm if your interested and i'll see what i can do. i need to get an opinion about it from someone else though, who really knows their posi units, because i dont want to sell someone a hurt piece of equipment.

Larry, Eaton makes many different carriers. Their clutch stlye posi's work fine, but the Eaton unit that was mentioned in the first post and mine is also called a "Gov-Loc" or in my opinion, a "Go-boom"

The Eaton posi is a strong unit. The Eaton locker....now that's a different story. I have seen multiple 1.4s 60 fts with my Eaton Posi and it's very solid with no worries of it being the weak link over the 4L60E tranny. The 10 bolt has been enhanced a bit though

Thanks for saving me the trouble everyone. I am still trying to find a good deal on a 12 bolt. If that happens Ill be taking the plunge. Anyone know if it is difficult to swap out a posi? If it will cost me a lot do the swapping it would probably just be best to take that cash and put it towards the upgraded axle.
